...it is because he uses multiple textured meshes for representing new objects .... for example his mesh calls 3 or 4 tga files ( one with actual pic and rest are just transparent ) . Usually there are five or more such "new" cockpit objects introduced , hence FPS loss .
at least that was the case with Bf 109's ...
all new meshes (PoppedPanel_XX.msh) are using :ZClocks1.tga ZClocks2.tga ZClocks3.tga ZClocks6.tga and only one is actual texture file .
