i have spent some 9 years tuning myself into the il2 fmb and can say that most of my maps give next to no lag at all 
they are all well playable.
the only issue i had was with finland, when flying over lenningrad, which is why it is not populated. other than that all else is fine.
BBM, i can put a selection into a zip and upload them to mediafire if you like, and people will be free to download them and use them how they like. i will do it later today and post a link in this thread.
