Oh and don't forget you need Photoshop (psd) to open templates. Paint Shop Pro also works but has it's own format (psp) that it uses. A tool you may find useful is "Bright FB" Converts bmp files to 8bit 256 colours without loosing the colour or screwing it up.

GIMP, and Paint.NET with plug-in will open PSD files as well.
