Compans very graciously responded to my question, and, said to let him know if I had problems. This was probably the wrong thing to say. I always have some sort of problem or other. 
Here goes. When I try to load a mission in QMB using the Channel map, I get "Mission loading failed: Landscape 'CAN_Channel/CAN40_load.ini' loading error".
Any idea what I have done wrong? I tried and followed instructions, but still, no luck.
While we are speaking of maps, load.ini stuff, what does it indicate when a map has multiple load.ini files? I have a "Normany" map (sorry, I don't know the author, I don't know how to tell), that has load1.ini, load2.ini, etc. What in the heck is that? My Channel map had an alternate .ini file, but I searched and found the one I was supposed to change the lines on.
