Hi there, I read this tread a while ago, but had never seen this issue. Though having played around with my graphics settings (new PC) I found that if I had 'catalyst ai' enabled in the ATI control panel, when I looked at the sun I had a very similar result to your screenshots... though it seems you have solved your issue, just in case anyone stumbles across this thead with a similar problem - this might be the answer
