S!
Ok, here some screens to prove my point. First the Erla-canopy that Oleg has modelled to ALL Bf109G-6Late and later marks. It is a NOT a commonly used version, but a very limited number version. In screen the area that should not be there is marked with red X, external model is OK, as it shows the canopy without these metal strips. Removing them would help the Bf109G-6/Late and later models pilots to see up front a bit better. Picture here.. http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php? ... yl&thumb=4
Then the front of the cockpit glazing and cockpit struts. In picture I have rounded area for clarity. If you look at the picture, the framing makes it IMPOSSIBLE for the side windows to be STRAIGHT. They are curved in game when in real life they were not. Just look at plane from a bit rear quarters and use Zoom, you see the glass is bent or bulging. Picture of the area is here: http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php? ... jk&thumb=4
In the cockpit framing picture I have also rounded the MG131-barrels sticking out from the breeches. This arrangement is completely wrong for G-6 and later using the MG131 gun instead of the MG17. This is because the MG17 was fed from BETWEEN the guns thus they were placed like in the screenshot. They had to be so the belt feeding system would fit.
Now the Bf109G-6 and later, that used the MG131, had the guns fed from OUTSIDE the guns thus making it necessary to add the bulges to the side of the fuselage and cowling. Barrels sticked out symmetrically, not as in picture asymmetrically.
As reference I use the visit to Finnish Air Force Museum that has a Bf109G-6, last flight of Messerschmitts in Finland was flown by this particular plane. It is in original condition almost. And the canopy is perfectly clear after 60 years, not yellow. Just a wink
Thank you for reading I hope some modders would take a look in this issue on Bf109. Combined with Muas's Bf109's..heaven!
