I don't see why You should have any problem. my Sapphire 3870 settings as tiger88 except that I have AA set to 8x edge-detect and I run a single card, not crossfire. I have water=2(highest u can go with ati),forest=3,typeclouds=1 and effects=1(for the contrail guncam mods,effects=2 work well as well before that), and res 2480x1024(with enableresize=1 in config.ini.
3870 shuold really run it with no problem.
I'm using ccc 9.3. Do u have any special effects mods(fire,smoke,etc) that might be slowing down?
If you have installed a lot of mods,when was the last time you defragmented your computer?
Perhaps it's vista(I mean the fact that your running it with direct x 10).In that case, I would imagine that special effects addodns could signifficantly drop your FPS(I speak under correction)
