The loudness is due to the fact that when I started modding sound it was around the time of the .09,.92 sound mods which were loud , as for the distortion , well there is none on mine , nor my bro's or my mates systems , a fix would be to get yourself an audio editing system , there are loads of eazy to use inexpensive ones avi on the interweb.

OK, the distortion is gone by lowering the sounds. Still, how come only sme people have problems with too loud sounds? How come you don't have sounds too loud? (I suppose you don't because you made them).
