How to create a dual installation?
#5

Copy your game folder to somewhere else on your hardrive and rename the folder and create a shortcut and rename it.Check to see if you can play your newly moved and renamed game. Then unistall the Org. game folder with the disc.Install a new game and then copy the stock install game elsewhere on hardrive for back up.Copy as many stock installs as you want patching and modding them according to what you want creating your own shorcuts to the .exe's and renaming these shorcuts to reflect the versions there for.

This is the method I used although I keep my stock install game on an external drive for back up and the other game folders I use I have on other internal drives other than my CBig Grinrive.

I am running a 1.0 version and a 1.11 version as well as a specific map editor version for three installs of the game.

Edit>Pretty much like BigBossMolone stated

I have also run two mods and two files folders in one install ,renaming them back and forth to play either 1.0 or 1.11 with no ill effect running either version.

so they were named like so -files and -Mods.

This is the way to not only disable Mods in you mod folder ,but to disable any folder in the game IL2

I then run the UI 1.1 and let it install. All works fine and I can play 1.0 or 1.1 by renaming my two folder sets now.

This way you are only needing a couple extra folders to have both versions instead of Gig upon Gig
of a whole new game on your hardrive.Just the new Mod folder is just under 5 Gig the files folder is so small it`s irrelevant.

It all works fine for me with out the need for two complete installs of the game.
