if you look up on the top of the instrument panel you'll see a series of toggle switches. Each switch armed a pair of guns from the inner to the outer pairs. Many pilots used the inner four guns when on patrol or escort and kept the outer pair for "insurance" on the way home. So, in short, yes Tiny Tim, this is historically accurate

So, a question to any/all modders reading this: Similarly to "Toggle engine #1 on/off" keys, would it be possible to add "Toggle 1st pair of machineguns" etc. to commands? Whenever first weapon key would be pressed, only the selected/armed weapons would fire.
