CirxTIPS: How to customize and organize your air.ini
#25

DaveOD06 Wrote:another question/ problem:

I went into air.ini and modified the name of all the japanese planes to include their allied codename like so:

A5M4_Claude air.A5M4 2 ja01 DESERT
A6M2_Zero air.A6M2 2 ja01 DESERT
A6M2-21_Zero air.A6M2_21 2 NOINFO ja01 DESERT
A6M2-N_Rufe air.A6M2N 2 ja01 DESERT
A6M3_Zero air.A6M3 2 NOINFO ja01 DESERT
A6M5_Zero air.A6M5 2 NOINFO ja01 DESERT
A6M5a_Zero air.A6M5A 2 ja01 DESERT
A6M5b_Zero air.A6M5B 2 NOINFO ja01 DESERT

now when i go to the loadout menu for the planes whose names i modifed, the weapons lists are screwed up and dont have the full or correct names for the different loadouts. when i deleted the modifications, the loadout lists went back to normal. any ideas?

yes, this is fortunately a very simple error and fix.

You need to first change the names you edited back to their originals, so it works again.
then yuo need to go find the document called

plane_ru.properties

You should be familiar with it if you have done a manual install before. In any event, you can find it in Mods/std/i18n
and you can edit it with wordpad or notepad.

In plane_ru, you will find almost every plane listed, and next to it, the name it is called in game (in QMB).

fore xample

Bf-109G-2 Bf-109G-2, 1942

This is where you change the name at the second entry, and you will notice that the air.ini entry is not realy the name the game uses to show you, it uses that name for reference, like to loadoutnames.
