Processor: AMD Sempron 2800+ (2015 MHz)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP, 32-bit (Service Pack 3)
DirectX version: 9.0c
GPU processor: GeForce 6200
Driver version: 186.18
Core clock: 350 MHz
Memory clock: 532 MHz (1064 MHz data rate)
Memory interface: 64-bit
Memory: 256 MB
Video BIOS version: 5.44.A2.09.00
IRQ: 16
Bus: AGP 8X
EDIT: the game runs fine(ish) with the high end settings, but i just want to optimise my game play.
I can tell you that with a 256Mb AGP card you will need to watch your VRAM in order to avoid microstutters.
Things that use a lot of VRAM include:
* Anti-aliasing (the higher you set it the more you'll use, and high settings use A LOT)
* Hi-rez textures (e.g. cockpit mods and downloadable aircraft skins)
If you do have microstutters, disable any cockpit mods and any hi-rez skins you've downloaded and lower your AA and see if that fixes them. If you still have microstutters then post your conf.ini and any forced settings in your graphics card control panel and I'll see if I can help (I play on a 256Mb AGP card and I reckon I've become quite an expert at managing IL2's VRAM usage ).
P.S.
If you're playing with 4.09 (modded or otherwise) then use these drivers:
