I found this problem when I had the same card, in th il2setup.exe I think you probably have it set to 'ATI Radeon'? change it to maximum settings and that should solve the problem for you. I had a HD4850 for a short while and started this thread: viewtopic.php?t=16418&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=pinkness&start=0 which may well have the answers to any other issues you might have.
