Installing mods, maps, missions and campaigns is very easy and quite intuitive. If you have any computer experience then it won't take you more than 2 minutes to figure everything out. But, I'll try to give you some tips:
First, when you install missions and campaigns they always come with readme file. Usually, there is one folder that goes into missions/single/(country) or missions/campaign/(country) depending on the type of mission. That folder contains mission files (like breafings and stuff). If that mission comes with new skins, you have to copy those new skins to their proper place. The best way is to select all new skins that come in their respective folders (each skin in it's plane folder) and just copy it in game/painschemes/skins and when asked to overwrite you just say YES.
Next, installing mods may vary slightly on the type of mod. All effects, cockpits, and similar things go to game folder/mods (and every time you downlad a new mod it contains self explanatory readme with it). Just be sure to copy the ACTUAL folder with the mod and NOT the unzipped folder that contains it (for instance, when you download the new B-17 cockpit it comes zipped, so when you unzip it you get something like this: (folder where you unzipped your file)/B17cockpitv1/B17cockpitv1/files. The thing is that if you copy the whole unzipped folder you wont be able to use it. You have to go inside the unzipped folder (which is the first B17cockpit folder and, from there, copy the B17cockpit folder that is placed inside). To be sure you have done it correctly go to mods and open B17cockpit (or any other mod that you installed this was), and if you see something like 3do and several other files, then you have done it correctly.
When you install new planes, you do just the same as above but usually you have to add some lines to your plane.ru, weapons.ru and air.conf that are all located inside gamefolder/mods/std. You open each of those using notepad and add required lines that can be found, you are guessing, in the readme file that comes with each of those new planes.
Installing maps is done in a similar fashion, only you have to install it into a special folder located in gamefolder/mods/mapmods/maps. It also requires adding a few lines into some all.ini file located inside the gamefolder/mods/mapmods/maps. Eeach maps comes with very thorough readme file so that should not be a problem to install.
If your downloaded mission has briefing in language other than English, it usually means that the author has made briefings in more than one language so you go to your gamefolder/missions/campaigns (or single, depending on the type of the mission in question) and open the country folder where you installed the mission and find the folder of the mission itself. Inside you will find two types of files - properties and mis files. They come in pair since properties is the briefing for a specific mission and mis is the actual mission file. If the author has made briefings in several language then check if propertie files have extension like ENG, FR, RU. Then choose the language you want and just delete the other languages.
If you are talking about briefings in DGEN campaigns, then there is a patch that should fix that somewhere on this forum.
