Just because the game is old it doesn't mean that a new card will just handle it all. I imagine there are some inefficiencies in the game itself which will lose you frames plus new modded maps, such as Canons Channel, have a lot of detail. Unfortunately I can't enjoy this detail - I have to turn down my card for this map alone!! I have an overclocked HD4890 too - it's a very modern card.

If your colleague is interested I have some more photos from the collection he was at, I checked mine and I am certain we were at the same collection. Perhaps we can do an exchange? Please PM me a mail address if he wants to do that

Interesting how you say you guys have to turn down your graphics settings to play on cannons channel map, my game runs fine on perfect mode with every setting up, including the stuff in the Nvidia control panel. I'm running on a 8800GT 512mb card, not overclocked. 4gb ram, 2.66ghz quad core, not overclocked either. My friend also runs fine on the map with a dual core 2.8 ghz some older version of my graphics card as his PSU unit doesn't allow him to run a 8800GT right now, and also less ram.

Maybe i've missed something in the settings or something's just odd lol
