I'm not sure what all is in the AAA UI, but if you're using any ground effects mods, that can kill fps, too. The ground effects mod AAA_Effects_Platinum_Edition has really helped with fps with ground attacks and ship guns. I'm running an older system with an AMD dual core 2.2 Ghz with an Nvida 8600 GT and I haven't had major frame loss after installing that mod.
