I find it very difficult to turn while taxiing in IL2 46. I have to make huge wide turns to get on the runway and am not always successful

Matey just make sure your tail wheel isn't engaged/locked into place. Every aircraft in IL2 46 can turn within its own shadow.

I can always turn 360' on the same blade of grass in my Bf 110 and every other aircraft in this game that I have flown, so to me it has to be your tail wheel? all you do is hold down the brake button, increase throttle and turn in what ever direction you want, once your pointing to where you want to go then ease off the brakes, once I'm on the runway and ready to go I engage my tail wheel to lock my direction in.
