If you want it to play Il-2 HELL NO! The 7950GT is simply MUCH faster in older games, and it can be still faster in some newer. In the newest both cards would be lacking performance. The 9500GT is only renamed 8600GT with some different clocks (slower memory, marginally faster GPU clock) and it has the very same POOR performance. The G86 - G96 core used on 8600 and 9500 was a great dissapointment on its release.

If you want to really upgrade your card over G71 (7950GT) I would say go for Radeon HD4670 at least or slightly more expensive but a decent performer - HD4850. If you prefer nvidia, then everything under 8800GT or 9600GT would not be worth opening your PC's case
