Many thanks for the replies guys!
I've used the a.exe to at least get the install to start happening. It is a new install of Vista Ultimate 64bit. Shortly followed by the windows 7 final upgrade once it is released.
I will try to install to a new simple directory like you said Bolt and see how that goes. It is taking ages to do anything. Moving 8GB of data around takes time
At least I've still got my old full install on XP to copy over if needed.
Edit: Tried many many times and it still didn't work. Can't get it to work. Time to move on to something else...
