so your problem is the over all volume, not just quiet sounds outside the cockpit?
I'm just trying to clarify your problem. It might be a sound card issue, you should probably post the make and model.
I actually discovered something pretty brilliant with my sound set up today.
I use a Focusrite Saffire, which I've used as an audio interface for recording from analog into a digital wav format.
I now have the inputs from my computer running through it which gives me additional EQ, compressor, and best of all...reverb.
The reverb isn't your basic reverb. i can make it so only the lowest tones echo, while the other frequencies remain dry.
For the game, it gives it an added surround sound feel, especially for the booms. The 3d direction is also a bit more blended and not so separated like right and left or middle.
I thought i might share that, as its something i've been trying to get my Focusrite to do for years.
I guess they finally got a driver update that made it doable.
I suppose its a great add on for my system because it runs off its own processor so it doesn't eat up any system resources to have 7.1 surround with the added effects.
Anyway, enough about my stuff, I hope to be able to help you more but i need more information.
thanks
Bill
