i use several mods folders in my 1946 mod directory folder:
it looks similar to this:
-mods
--mods
---mods
Mods
The active mods folder won't have any "-" next to it. What ever mods are in the folder will get loaded into the game.
If you know which mods you will be needing, say for a particular server, then you can designate a mod folder for that server. You can even change the folder icons to help you keep track of which server the mods folder is based on. If you know which server you will be joining just replace the "-" so the proper folder is activated for use.
I really only have the need for three folders, one is used to test new mods, the other is a streamlined version with only 20 or so mods that i work on most servers, and the full UI1.2 mod pack.
Its not too much hassel and i figure its better than having 3 or 4 copies of the game which i saw some people doing. You really only need different copies of the mods folders.
Just a suggestion.
