Your KTO looks great with Flushy's Bump mod, as you suggest. However, as I use the vpmedia map pack, I the bump mod looks bad on other maps. I think other people have this situation. As only a few textures on the KTO map can be from the bump mod (cities, I think), would it be possible (with Flushy's permission of course) to rename his textures and include them for use with the KTO map?

That would be a fantastic idea. I have taken out a few certain files from that mod so I wouldn't have that issue, yet KTO would have the textures I intended. If I could simply make those textures apart of the map then life would be easier. I will see about sending him a message with such a request.
