ShipPack2-Bug report and discussion

I know this is old news but this Mod has always defeated me7 I would like to get this working..I understand the need to eliminate ships pack1 thats easy & I know the change the technics_ru title...but here's what's got me flumixed: adding the new lines to static folder...I'm bothered because I may have added them in a previous install try & if so they are still there.What heppens if I put these new lines in again? Will I screw up my STD ( yes I'll save it) folder no end? Is 60-70%CTD the probable result?
I've never quite got what happens in any of the STD folders if you add lines of text that are already there , but perhaps out of order,or just hidden in the lines & lines of text.Do I get myselfinto real trouble when a addition of a new objects text repeats itself? This applies to objects ships, armor, & personel...but I've only really run into trouble with Ships2.I'd like to solve this so that I can fully fly some of the new missions & campaigns withthese new ships in them.
can anyone answer this burning question & walk me through the complete install of this mod?
