I googled PLANE CHECK FAILED(TIMEOUT 2) and found this post on the Warbirds of Prey forum, sounds like the kind of error you're talking about, perhaps worth trying out the suggested fix? I haven't flown on Spits vs 109's or Zekes vs Wildcats for a while so I may even have the same issue too, I'd be interested in hearing how you get on solving it.
