If the cities and roads from Google Earth look too modern...try this......load the textures into Photoshop and reduce the contrast a bit...and change the tone to make it look a bit more yellow.... this should alter the roads and concrete buildings to look more like simple dusty roads and corrugated iron roofs or thatched houses...

hum don't know if this will be enough. At that period japan used many wood for constructions. I will change these textures for V2.

Maybe find parts of Asia that still are consturcted that way and use it to create a tile to paint over the modern construction in photoship?

Maybe parts of Burma will still be pretty backwards in time that way....their repressive government doesn't spend money on anything but arms.

Just going by Google maps rural North Korea has that small house, dirt roads look.
