You can propperly waste a bomber with the salvo, but the correct useage of the r4m's has been said. Trouble is, the ai doesn't react properly and at any rate there are never enough planes on screen to simulate the sorts of formations that the salvos would have attempted to break up.
I think this time the historical inaccuracy is offset, maybe even justified by the fact that the formations aren't broken up as you said. For this reason I believe a single or double shot of R4M's has a place in the game, and I'd like to see it too.
Or we could just leave it as is?
Look, the author of this topic's complaint was that he couldn't hit a fighter jet target with his r4m's. A 24 rocket salvo missed, what chance has single or double rocket salvo's? They were designed for attacking large lumbering formations of bombers, with maybe a hundred or two bombers in large formations, at varying altitudes, not say 16 bombers in various places on the map like in say the qmb. And definitely not for shooting down jet fighters.
single and double rocket salvos allow for more shots so u have more chances to hit the target seems how one rocket can kill any plane. all 24 at once, u have less of chance to hit the target if it is turning, climbing, or diving away from u, u have to be really skilled to hit the target then
And then you waste all 24 rockets on one plane
