I guess you're right, Lejo & akdavis. Maybe not so dark after all, and the first photograph of Lejo about the shrubs is crucial, I hadn't see it yet. Anyway in that photograph the ground seems dark (the photo is very light). But is true that the mount is a combination of grass and light rock, and the strips seem indeed light. Also it's interesting the sign of agriculture.
