Map border & sights in hud - how to change?
#5

Thanks everyone. Huge help. I'd just like to mention that i'm really new to modding IL-2, started when I joined AAA. I'm just hacking around & probably re-inventing the wheel. Figured out the .mat files by trial & error, still don't know the .SFS file structure, though the extractor helps. Just assumed that IL-2 looks in the MODS folder first, while loading stuff, which works on most things (the HUD gauges are a part of the whole GUI that I'm playing with (in GUI/game/hud) - here's a screen shot:

Can't see it in the pic, but it's (somewhat) convincing wrinkle-black finish, and there are no pilot lights to be used as pushbuttons, or the '80's style micro toggle switches. I'll be hapy to upload it, if anyone cares. One boon to this - detail.tga, which is the texture file, and is 128x128, could be made up to 1024x1024, and, through it's .mat file, not to tile. Which means you can have a big monochrome pic up there (tried it, kind'a annoying...).
Oh, and everyone keeps mentioning folders which do not exist in my MODS folder - what am I missing?
Thanks again,
-d
