Can't say that i have much experience working with bumpH files, but renaming a texture into that extension seems fairly easy.
I just tried it out in Windows Explorer. Pressed F2 to rename a .tga file, and typed in extension .bumpH and deleted .tga. I got a .bumpH file, sans probl
