when exactly? I can't say.

It isn't that it takes me a whole lot of time to do them (standalone installers) -ok it does take some time, but not THAT much- but rather, that I have discovered some incompatibilities with other mods (for instance, the Wind turbulence mod). The advantages of using HSFX, regardless of the 'pain' it can be to download it, are so huge that I have even considered not releasing a standalone version (don't worry, it's not the case).

@Alex T: it may be a huge download, it may contain stuff you could care less of, but what is the instant benefit? zero penalty in loading times. Faster than dropping the standalone version into your MODS folder and firing up the game.

Just so there is no confusion, I don't want to force anyone into using HSFX4.1, so yes standalone installers will be available, both as auto-installers and as manua-only-SAS-like packs. Keep in mind that you will need an updated BUTTONS file (possibly from SAS or UP or w/e)

In any case, around February I will have (hopefully) some updated 3d stuff for the aircrafts (late sabre 6'3 wings, possibly a correct windshield too, updated mig-17 wings etc).
