Indeed. That's the premis for taking out as much blue as possible. Combat experience shoes that in the heat of the moment people focus on a part of the detail, something that gets through our perceptive haze and registers as this or that. In other words, we glance and take in only so much information. Chimpanzees are very good at this. We're not. It's just the way our brains are wired up.

I did only really consider a civil war situation against the north. If you want a CSAAF action against the Japanese, then why not simply erase the red? Use white crosses and stripes to indicate nationality? That's the sort of refinement in symbology that went on in WW2.
