The gunsight reticles are correct and are the correct size. A tip would be, when you start Trakir, be farther away from the monitor than you will be when flying. Then, after starting the game, move to your normal position, closer to the screen. You'll get more, if not all of the image. I've looked through a real Mk VIII sight and it has a very big image. You have to get your head fairly close to the sight to see it all.

In the Corsairs, at least, the sight is obscured at all normal viewing distances and angles unless you put your nose to the monitor with TIR 6DOF. With normal Il-2 views, you will never see the entire picture of the gunsight, as it is obscured by an invisible hole (mask) in front of the armored glass. Entire sight should be visible from all distances in the Corsair, as it has the large glass plate to reflect on.
