Yeah, it didn't make any sense to him or me either. I'm just reporting what he told me. He's no jerk he's an aerospace engineer and a pilot and a WWII history buff and I believe what he told me. We were talking about it on the phone a few weeks ago after he'd discovered the phenomenon. He was thinking of installing his Mk VIII in a small sports plane like an RV-4 and thought the big glass might give a wider field of view for the sight, but no dice. Very strange.
