Cheers for the comments guys, glad to see you reckon I'm doing my job properly!
I do completely agree with the general sentiment here, it takes the same amount of effort to be polite and tactful as it does to be rude and tactless, and the atmosphere of the forum can alter easily depending on which route we amble down. I appreciate some of the request we get can be rather daft and all, but do keep in mind that there are no rules saying people can't ask.
As for where this sim will go, I'm not a modder myself so I would hate to be quoted as the authority on such things, but as I understand it, things stand like this: the game is magnificent but the engine's limitations mean that the realistic cut-off is the 50's for aircraft because the complexity of avionics and whatnot would outgrow the game engine. As well as that, we're still affected by the world which I believe's altitude limit before things go all weird is lower than the altitude that many more modern aircraft can achieve. And then of course there's the issue of speed. Although that said, Wolf and PeterD [apologies to others who helped but I don't know about] fixed that, you can now break mach 1, so perhaps given time, who knows?
Me I'd love to see an English Electric Lightning or a Panavia Tornado. But this sim isn't the place for them. On the other hand, from what I hear, the SoW engine could well cater for all...

Annoying the annoying, so you don't have to.
