Star navigation?
#1

Hey Gents!

Hope everyone's doing well. I tried an experiment tonight which boggled my mind, but worked very well! I took an Astronomy course in college several years ago and wanted to see if the stars in IL-2 were correct. I made successful flights from airbase to airbase on the Slovakia map by checking a star chart and correcting my heading based upon what it says. However, on said map, in order to align the stars perfectly with the star map, I discovered that the night sky looked most similar to the night sky somewhere around July 10th at 3 AM. Unfortunately, this was a winter map.

Now, go ahead, roll your eyes at me. I am by no means saying that this is crucial to gameplay, but, if we can find a way to rotate the star map in accordance with the season, what a cool way to navigate if the compass gets shot out!
