Yes, cooling was an issue in the 190 for a long time, even after it entered service. I think it also had problems with exhaust fumes leaking into the cockpit early on IIRC. Thank god they found out a regular cowling was just as aerodynamic, because that ducted spinner was absolutely hideous!

this is true...i think after a few months of being in service they rerouted the exhaust and moved the oil cooler to a different location and that fixed the overheating problems. what i remember from my JG26 book.
