Just a quick update on the changes around Saigon.
Tan San Nhut is now operational again after re-building and has two runways as indicated in the
reference material sent to me by Akvadis. Google images appear to confirm a second runway
North/South ish, so this was added. The smaller runway with the A-20's landing.
The airfield has now been moved closer to saigon which you see in the background.
Both runways were set up to operate aircraft from each direction, but like the runways at Tourane
there is a glitch here, the sim for whatever reason won't use them all.
Building work in Saigon is progressing.
The rail yards.
The seat of colonial power, what I think is the Governers residence, or whatever the French
colonials called it. Still needs work.
My interpretation of the City layout, the info from Akvadis has proved invaluable here, both
the photographs he posted and the diagrams he sent me. I would appreciate any input
on this from Saigon residents please, am I anywhere near Hawkman?
I've also finally managed to make a tree map for some of the textures, thanks to the superb
tutorial by KevinP.
Here used on those lovely paddy field textures by Bombsaway. From the air.
And close up.
Not sure what this does to frame rates but it is experimental at the moment. I thought if I
increased the density of the foliage it might work as a stand in for swamp land or flooded areas.
Any thoughts on this would be welcome.
Here is the effect on one of my Googled textures, VietnamAgriculture1 for anyone who has
the WIP map.
Wishing you all the very best, Pete.
