Just to let you know I had to upgrade the ammo to nearly .50cal size even with historical rate of fire. I'm pretty sure the problem was with the distance at which you would shoot with a gunship and the ammo effectiveness drops of dramatically at 1000meters/yards or so. If you drop down to 1500 feet you can do a lot more damage to trucks but if there is AAA you get pretty shot up that close.
Historically the early gunships were anti personnel weapons and only a few trucks were actually claimed destroyed. Since we can't mow down running rabbits, and we only really have light skin trucks and landing craft/boats to shoot I had to up the ammo weight. Two AC-47's with full ammo load can almost sink a fishing boat. You can leave it smoking pretty good. I'll tell you though, after a full load mission you get kind of dizzy after flying around in circles so much.
