3DS MAX / GMAX to IL2 Exporter Tutorial for Buggy Buggy IL2 Exporter
This tool allows the user to convert 3ds max & Gmax scenes to IL2 msh format
This is a exporter script for 3dsmax(any version) & GMax
V2.52 Update:
- LOD problem should be fixed
- Add support with INTERNAL collision type
(With the name start with "INT_")
V2.5 Update:
- multi-FaceGroups finally supportted
- Be sure delete any old script before install this one!
V2.1 Fix:
- multimaterial not exported correctly, now fixed.
- collision mesh export error, now fixed.
V2.0 Update:
- It is now INDEPENDENT to 3DS, it means NO NEED to convert to and from 3ds
Just any mesh directly output form 3dsmax.
- Added support with shadow mesh & collision mesh
How to use it:
- extract all files into your 3dsmax\scripts folder
- start 3dsmax(Gmax) and go to utility panel
- press maxscript and select the Buggy Buggy IL2 Exporter
- press Export button and click on the model you want to export!
- then copy the text from listener to a text file
Limitation:
- All models will export as 1 FaceGroup only
(Again I don't know how to convert it)
- Support [Hooks]
(Use DUMMY object as [Hooks] object, REMEMBER
to link the DUMMY object to the model you want to export
- Support LOD objects
(Simply link the LOD models to the model you want to export
AND name them with LOD* eg: LOD1abc, LOD2xxx ...)
- Support Shadow Mesh
(Link the Shadow Mesh to the main model and/or LOD models
Name them with SHW* eg: SHWabc, SHWLOD1xxx ...)
- Support Collision objects
(Again link them all to your main object will do)
