CamelJock Wrote:Using 1920x1080 res or above, you should see normal viewing distance.Im using 3840x1024 and I am seeing 'normal' viewind distances..
The problem is RoF's normal viewing distances are not normal!
And to be clear I am not talking about the resolution..
Im talking about the distance at which planes first appear..
CamelJock Wrote:I can see enemy planes well enough in time to turn and decide my attack plan.I allready stated RoF is a great shoot em up WWI sim..
But due to the planes not apearing as 'dots' a farther distances you can not apply realistic WWI SA tatics..
CamelJock Wrote:This sim was not designed for low res, low power machines. I run it at 1920x1200, and at all max settings.Agreed 100%
And you should consider getting a better machine in that the 1920x1200 res is not good enough to fully enjoy RoF IMHO
CamelJock Wrote:You need to use trackir, and I wouldn't suggest less than trackir5 for it. You need the fast response.I got TIR5 with fast responce..
Sadly having or not having TIR does not affect the distance at which planes first appear
CamelJock Wrote:As for zoom, yes, it can help a newbie learn how to find an ememy at first, but you will wean yourself off zoom after awhile. This only proves my point..
The fact that you have to ZOOM to make planes appear is what is wrong with the sim
CamelJock Wrote:You did not have binoculars to see planes, you only had eyes.Bingo!
Thanks for proving my point!
