B-24 Nose Gun
#1

I was playing IL-2 Sturmovik Ultrapack today and I was playing in the B-24 Liberator bomber in the game. I switched to the nose position inside the airplane. The nose position is derived from the B-25, which I found very odd, but not surprising, which is fine because we base our models on stock aircraft. The nose gunner's position is very odd because it contains the sight for a single .50 caliber machine gun when in fact, there are supposed to be 2 .50 caliber machine guns. There is a sight for only one machine gun and not the two already in the airplane. Why is there only one machine gun depicted, when there are supposed to be 2? The B-24 also had a pane in the lower section of the nose for the bombardier, which is also conspiculously absent. The B-24 cockpit looks a recycled B-25 cockpit. The yoke has a switch for firing forward-firing guns.
This should be changed because the B-24 did not have forward-firing guns. It would have been too heavy to have them on a bomber and only the B-25 really had them. I have no modeling experience here, to be able to change the B-24 cockpit. Can somebody please change it?
I looked up the B-24 nose turret on the internet and found that the current nose gun position is technically inaccurate. Here is a photograph of a sight in a B-24 nose gun position taken by a college student over Seattle Washington. http://www.electraforge.com/brooke/flig ... nsight.jpg

I also noticed that the waist-gun positions are off center and don't really cover a sizeable portion of the 9 O'clock position of the bomber airplane is not protected. The area around the left wing is not protected from enemy fire. The waist gun positions need to be more centered. Also, what's that weird black thing on the waist gun? That shouldn't be there because it obstructs my view out the side and it really wasn't on B-17s and B-24s anyway.

I find it odd that no one has noticed the odd-looking B-24 nose-gunner position in the game. I have some diagrams of a B-24 nose gunner position for you guys to look at.

The B-24 used an Emerson A-15 gun turret in the nose, much like the B-17s nose gun turret.
Why haven't we modified the B-24's nose turret, but modified the B-17s to look more accurate? We should modify the nose turret to make it more historically accurate so that people will better be able to know what a B-24's nose gun looks like. It should be done to make the B-24 more accurate.
You know.
