I would first see if the original mapmaker is making or planning a fix.
If you want to do it yourself, I suspect it will involve a bit of time learning how to extract and edit the actors.static for the map, and add the campfires at the same locations as the towers.
It seems it would be far easier and faster to just edit the .mis files you refer to. You need only to add them once in the Full Mission Builder, then just use Windows Notepad afterwards to copy and paste the campfire lines into all your other .mis files. Would likely take only a few minutes.
