I have Freetrack for about 2 years I guess and works very well but it would be nice to have a tracking system without 3 LEDs on my headset. I gave TrackNoIR a chance and it worked okay with IL2. 
The reason why I keep on using Freetrack is that TrackNoIR needs more light on my face than I have at the moment (or maybe it has to do with my cheap webcam...). And positioning my PC more to the window at daytime or shining a spotlight on my face during the evening hours isn't an option.
But yes it works with IL2 (enabled 6 DOF through JSGME in HSFX 4.1).
