There is a way to install the recently released IL-2 Stumovik 1946 V4.10m into a mod pack (using the JSGME switcher of either HSFX or UltraPack mod packs.), so you have that as an option sooner or later.
The mod packs a huge number of mods, so I hope that you chose 1 or 2 of them. (Separate installations for each, of course.)
