Hein lerche has counter rotating blades; it wasn't physically impossible, just not practical because of cost, too hard to land, and very uncomfortable.

triebflugel doesn't have anything counter-rotating to keep it from a wild spin, and the IL-2 people like to stick with physically accurate

it is a cool idea, just not probable

EDIT: triebflugel rotor is free-spinning, so no torque
