NO!, make a new install of IL2 patch it up to 4.10
Then make it modable with a Mod Act and start adding
Mods to it and one day it will be like your 4.09.
But Keep your 4.09 so you can still have all wile you
Build up your new 4.10.

I have the Steam version of IL2 (I believe it is 4.09m). This is my second download because of problems with trying to Mod. I was following instruction found here and elsewhere. With a Steam version (goes to C:\\Programs (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\il 2 etc......
I could not figure out how to download to the C:\\ root rather than Programs (like some have suggested), so I am not sure how to download another copy from Steam and put it elsewhere (perhaps on my larger backup drive), so I could patch the first on to 4.10m. I have Win6-64. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have already learned so much from this site - many, many thanks to contributors.
