Hi, rlprestin and welcome to our community website 
When using an installer, you can simply delete the default destination for the install and type C:\ for IL-2 to become a major folder in your disk. IL-2 should never go in Program Files with Vista or Win7 operating systems. IL-2 will run a tiny bit better with the shortest possible file path in the installation.
