This is for any Google searcher having trouble using the Ricochet mod (my favorite mod of all time! Huge realism, immersion, and cool factor--thanks HG&P for creating it!) with Il-2 1946 + Ultra Pack. The mod--at least the version I downloaded--is structured improperly to work with UP, so you need to make a small modification to the mod in order to enable it via the JSGMEMODS folder that Ultra Pack creates for its associated mods. This holds true for any mod not made specifically to work with UP. Extract the file, then open the mod folder. Inside will be four different version of the mod. The same fix works in each case. Open the folder of the version of the mod you want to use, for example: 00_HG&P_Ricochet_Gunsmoke_Bullets_2D_Smoketrail. Inside will be some files. Create a new folder and name it "Files", then cut and paste the mod files into the "Files" folder you created. Close the Files folder, and the Ricochet mod folder. Cut the Ricochet mod folder out of the Extraction folder, then paste the Ricochet mod into the jsgmemods folder of your Il-2+UP install. Enable the mod with JSGME and it should work. While searching for a solution to the problem (not understanding the eccentricities of the UP mod pack) I saw that at least one other person was having the same problem and no one was clued in to what the issue was. So I hope this helps someone in similar difficulties.
As an aside--anyone looking to download the mod can find a mediafire link along with the YouTube video demonstrating the mod.
OK, after further research I see that mods can be placed in a MODS folder separate from the jsgmemods folder, and that doing it that way, they should require no alteration. Ok. Anyway , I'm not the only one who is in the dark about all this stuff. So scratch what I said above, and just put the Ricochet mod, unaltered, into your Mods folder, which works without JSGME and it should work that way too. Probably works much better that way.
