The firepower demonstration was stunning!
For many pilots, yes, what you say is true, but some pilots loved the P-39 and found the 37mm very effect in air to air shooting. Alexander Pokryshkin was an ace who preferred the P-39 even over the La-7. He was the second leading ace for the Allies in WW2. Once in a show for commanders who were on the ground, he intercepted a flight of German bombers in plain sight and shot down 3 of them in one pass!
Each pilot is unique, for sure, so the P-39 is not for everybody.
I liked the sound of the gun in the video and the beefy engine, too.
