I jsut extract all in my il2 1946 folder and not in my created "patch" folder in my il2 folder.
It's the samething for mods or I have to create a folder.
Okay,
1) Install the first IL-2 1946 in a location outside program files. You can name it what you like in the title of the whole IL-2 folder: Re-name to "IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 Stock Installation", as an example. [ If a person were planning to add a mod pack, then one could include the name of the mod pack in the re-naming, such as this: "IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 with HSFX 5.01 ( Or "IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 with UltraPack 3.0 ), or anything other mod pack. ]
2) Official IL-2 1946 patches are added next. Point the patches, one at a time in order, at the IL-2 1946 installation that you made in step " 1) " above this line. This signifies pointing the patches at the main IL-2 folder only - right at the title - click on it when you select the location for the patch to go. If ever asked to overwrite files, then say Yes to All.
3) Keep the patched IL-2 1946 as stock. Make at least one "back-up" copy instead of re-downloading which saves you much time.
4) You may add mods to the whole build after you applied all the stock IL-2 1946 patches, but only mods which are compatible with the last patch that you added. Search and know the compatibility of the mod which you want before you do anything. Be sure to read the instructions about the mod before you do anything.
There are different systems of adding mods and you must NOT mix any mod packs, unless the instructions let you do it - but I do not know of any mod packs which could be mixed - NO! NO! NO!
You should use only one system of adding mods for each patched IL-2 1946. Do not mix different modding systems on the same installation of IL-2 1946!
Please read this whole little thread to be clear on the patching of stock, official IL-2 Sturmovik 1946.
